Official Release: eyesofglenn.com

Exciting news people!

I have just formally released my new website: http://www.eyesofglenn.com/

In light of this development, you'd be glad to know that this current blog will continue to function for now - but if you can all do me a favour and hop onto http://www.facebook.com/eyesofglenn/  and "like" my page for me, that would be great!

As you can see just below my old banner, is the new banner of which my long time friend Nicholas Liem designed for me. Apparently he will gladly quit engineering and pursue logo designs if there is enough interest! ;)

Anyways, happy reading/procrastinating on my blog. There's still a whole lot of backlog to clear if you haven't noticed yet!

Melbourne Day 2: ACMI, Hosier Lane

a little bit of nerding genius from me told the group to stay indoors as melbourne was going to be...crying heavily for 10minutes. this led us to ACMI, which provided us a history of everything technology related

what we managed to avoid

Melbourne Day 1: 1 Flight, 4 Normal, 2 Crazies.

with realistically only one person i knew fully well and had previously gone away with, i knew this trip could either be awesome or i'd be counting down the days till returning to sydney. fortunately, it was the former - and you'll be able to tell in the coming series of posts :)

safe to say, my uno and snap skills (or lackthereof) got tested.

as you'd expect, myself and mum here were super excited for the plane trip

an announcement #2

aaaand it looks like you people think that changing the name was an idea that was influenced by alcohol.

so i've been suggested to not go changing names - and based on this strong reaction i'll likely keep it to this. however, website and domains will need to be purchased!

in other news, there won't be much posts here till i get the wedding photos done. you know me - strictly chronological!

an announcement

i'm here to announce that I will be progressing this whole photography into a new dimension. soon i will be rebranding and hopefully will migrate to a newer, more user friendly website that will be more professional.

if you have any suggestions for cool names and the like, i'm more than happy to consider :)

i'm not kidding. FOR SALE

My D5000 is for sale (23 Dec 09, $1300), at $550 including everything, and $600 with the 18-55

Looking to upgrade to a D7000.

A great camera to start with in the world of DSLR photography. The swivel screen acts as its own screen protector and is important for awkward angle composition

Please share this with your friends if you know they are interested.

Working condition: Still perfect, after 2.5 years of heavy use - you've seen my pics from here

Including Original Items:
D5000 Body
Nikon Strap (not the one pictured)
Battery EN-EL9a
Quick Charger MH-23
USB cable UC-E6
AV cable EG-CP14
Body Cap
Eyepiece cap DK-5
Software CD
Guides & Manuals

Including 3rd Party Extras:
2 x EN-EL9a batteries
D5000 Grip (non functional button, acts as extended battery and counterweight to shoe mounted flash)
8GB Class 10 Patriot SD Memory Card

What's Missing (and why it really doesn't matter):
- Accessory Shoe Cover (piece of plastic that covers the flash mount..useless if you use a flash)
- Rubber Eye Attachment (gets in the way of people that wear glasses, doesn't do much apart from collect facial oil)
- Thumb Rubber Grip (if you need extra traction to hold this camera, you're better off sticking to your iPhone)

Post here or PM me if interested.

Conjola 2011

had a nice but short stay down the coast.

Lake Conjola, is around 3 hours drive from Sydney, which I believe is the perfect driving time and distance since it's a decent drive, yet short enough to not let you get sick of the car..

Mechsoc BBQ Week 10 [2011 S2]

all the action from the week 10 BBQ

we were very lucky to have the heavens clear up, after rain was forecast for the day. the organisers were definitely teetering on the edge of cancellation after a squally storm swept through at around 11am, but it cleared fast enough for the skies to part and for the BBQ to go ahead. pretty sure everyone was glad that it did, because the turnout was fantastic - we had the perfect amount of sausages!

helping us today at the BBQ was the head of school, Anne Simmons, serving out the bread to all the hungry and some unknowing students!

bombed!

looking a bit concerned here
