(Saturday #1) The Rams: Grand Final vs a 15 man team.........

Saturday #1

so for our grand final, we played a team with 4 subs, continuously running on and off and having a bowl.

not fair? apparently the rules say they can field 15 players, where the #12 can bat and bowl, whilc the #13 and #14 can bat OR bowl, and the #15 can only field. talk about breaks.

it means that some mark cosgrove can come out and bat after being fresh by not fielding.

so after being bowled out for 168, the defence early was poor - they were 0/70 off 17 and cruising along nicely. The second session of their inning had a form of collapse.

The equation then boiled down to them getting 20 runs and winning, while we had them 9 down.

While we lost in the end, it showed the true fighting spirit of the team which brought us all the way to the Grand Final. To us, we knew we won the game fairly, as an 11 man team had a 15 man team 9 down and came oh so close. Their attitude was about as low as the heel of my shoe, given the poor reaction when approached by us in a calm and collected manner.

There has to be credit given however, to a handful of their players who still showed some sportsmanship by clapping Vish for getting his half century. That's where the compliments end.

Well played Rams, see you all again in May for the Winter season!
